Hussein with his daughter outside Poppins cafe
Let's hear it for Hussein who's recently opened Poppins Cafe in the old I Borboni premises, opposite Finsbury Park just a little up from Endymion Road. Walking past earlier I witnessed a real act of kindness.
A destitute man was walking along Green Lanes asking passers by for 20 pence. Hussein's response was to ask a few questions to understand the man's situation. He then told the man to wait before disappeaing inside. A few moments later he reappeared followed by his wife who was carrying an enormous sandwich crammed with meat and vegetables. The man looked truly amazed and delighted.
Goodonya Hussein.
If you'd like to try Poppins, it's a mix of Turkish and English/European. So, there's full English, pastas, jackets and a good range of Turkish food too.
