Kids Delight at the Garden Classroom and the Wonderful World of Bees

The Garden Classroom is a non-profit organisation that has won many awards including two   from the Forestry Commission, The Mayor of London and the Tree Council for our tree education programmes

The group's main aim is to connect inner city children and young people to their natural world by providing creative outdoor experiences that inspire and educate while nurturing a respect for the environment.

They currently operate for five venues in Islington including in Gillespie Park just a stone's throw away between Finsbury Park and Arsenal's ground.

Amongst their well-loved schedule is their Bee Education Programme.

The next event is on Sunday 12 June between 11am-3pm with at Islington Ecology Centre. Your kids can peek inside a working hive, dip a beeswax candle, and hunt for treasure for honey prizes. Also arts and crafts, face painting, storytelling and live music.

We went to Gillespie park last week - it's got a lot of different habitats, and we saw lots of big tadpoles in the largest pond & newts in one of the smaller ones. Highly recommended.
