And in case you like some music or a movie to get you in the mood:

Idiots.
@ John McM - What is silly is that it looks as if both cars could have bypassed the bollards by taking a bit of pavement ( not that I would suggest it :-) )
It is possibly a bit harsh to call these people idiots.  I have just looked at a couple of the linked videos and notice that in every case the damaged car was following a bus or a truck.  Knowing how an oversized vehicle (or even your standard white van) obscures the road in front -- often including signage -- it is entirely possible that the driver of the second vehicle did not even realise that the bollards were there.  It looks to me like these things are more dangerous than councils with a hi-tech obsession are prepared to admit.

It is possibly a bit harsh to call these people idiots.

Except, of course, in the original Greek sense of 'idiotes' or 'very private individuals': so private or idiotic that they might, perhaps, choose to reside in an electronically gated or bollarded community. "Officer," she pleaded, "I have just experienced a bollarding malfunction."

Lydia, please watch the video more closely. The first car that drove up but could not get through is also the same recklessly following the bus through.

Ah..

OK.

Idiot

(and not in the private sense).

the way things are going... look to USA!

Well it made me giggle - especially the white van.

That's £20 on my insurance.
You're telling me. I accidentally reversed into a Mercedes while parking recently, at about 3 mph, and cracked the number plate. I've just been sent the bill - £815! So it will have to go through the insurance, which will cost not only me my NCD, but is clearly why premiums are going through the roof.
That is ridiculous Maddy. Replacing a number plate should cost no more than £100, even taking account of 1 hour's labour ( it should take 10 minutes ). Ask them for an itemised breakdown of the bill.

I drove past this yesterday when the car was still stuck to the bollard. I didn't realise what I'd seen for a few seconds because what caught my attention was a mum with her baby both crying talking to a man. So this caught my attention, then I saw the car. I hope they're both ok and I feel a bit bad for not stopping.
