KBBC Kitchens - any experiences??
We have just got a quote from KBBC Kitchens in Crouch End and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them, or can recommend any other companies where we can get a quote to compare? It is to completely gut out our old kitchen and refit with inbuilt appliances etc.
We were just expecting a visit to take measurements etc but the sales guy who was rather old school ended up staying for almost 2 hours and almost got my partner to shake hands on a deal until I pulled the plug as the paper work was being filled in...

We had KBBC round a couple of years ago for a quote and the salesman was very heavy handed. We lost interest half way through his pitch. We eventually went with Homebase and are very pleased with the results which was much cheaper than KBBC. The workmen sub-contracted by Homebase were excellent. Our old kitchen was regutted, we also had new floorboards, and the electricals were updated

Hi Rebecca,
We had our kitchen fitted by KBBC 4 years ago and were very pleased with them. We found they were about mid price - similar to Magnet- but were much more flexible about dates (we were having an extension built). The fitters were excellent and v quick, and the after-sales experience was good, as we had a problem with the oven, and needed a unit door replaced. Still happy with the kitchen 4 years on- strange, I dont remember any particularly pushy salesman. Hope this helps, Natasha

We bought a kitchen from them in January which was fitted into our extension in April. The reason we went with them was the 2 year free interest deal they offered.
I found the sales guy very knowledgeable and helpful. I was less impressed with their after sales team. We've had a couple of problems in particular with our built in dishwasher and they washed their hands off it. It took nearly 2 months and a lot of phone calls and a lot of effort to be sorted out.
I strongly had the feeling that as soon as they had our money there was no more after care.
The units themselves are ok but far from being special.

We had been looking at Howdens and Benchmarks, which is where the trade generally go and usually far more competitive than the 'high street', until our builder and plasterer suggested C&C Kitchens on the Great Cambridge Rd. They both have C&C kitchen's in their own homes, I thought if it's good enough for them...... Whilst more expensive, apart from the appliances which for some reason are cheaper, the quality seems better. The service we have had has been second to none - no hard sell and I've lost count of the times I have been back to them with questions or requests for minor changes, nothing seems to be too much trouble. If you haven't yet made a decision it might be worth paying them a visit and speaking to Victoria. If you need the full address and/or tel No let me know and I'll dig it out.

Hi Steve. I had been recommended Howdens before, but I will also get a quote from C & C when we get round to doing our kitchen next year so thanks for recommendation - as I am very fussy so always looking for a good tip!
Did C&C install the new kitchen as well or do you have a fitter to recommend? Plus out of interest, how long did it all take? As I dread the prospect of all the upheaval and wondered how long you have to last without a kitchen...

Our kitchen is arriving next week - we put it back a few times due to us not getting our act together with preparitoryr work that needs to be done! We haven't engaged C&C to fit it as our builder recommended someone who he knows and he has worked with for many years, apparently he's an experienced carpenter and the best there is! After speaking to him we decided he is the man for the job. Unfortunately his wife was taken seriously ill and has been in a coma for more than a month, understandably he's staying close to home and not currently taking on any extra work! Although we have a week or 2s worth of work to be done before we are ready to put our kitchen in it doesn't look like he'll be in a position to fit ours, I am very disappointed as I am, like you, very fussy. Anyway hopefully all will be well with him and his wife when you're ready next year. During our discussion he said the average kitchen (depending on complexity) usually takes 4 - 5 days which he said sometimes shocks people. We're getting a quartz worktop fitted separately so we're hoping it'll be no more than 3 days! Anyway I hope this helps and feel free to keep in touch over our and your progress.

Thanks a lot Steve, that's very useful. Wow 5 days plus I dread to think what all the preparitory work might involve as well! How awful for his poor wife to be so ill. Hope everything goes well with your kitchen.
I've been lucky so far. Had a great company replace all my windows, then got a fantastic bathroom fitted so kitchen will be the next project. My husband can't face the kitchen being done yet as I turn into a complete obsessive about wanting to get everything perfect and stressing over choices. I became a bathroom expert and no doubt I'll have to do the same for kitchens. It will take me ages to choose kitchen, colours, flooring etc. Will keep in touch. Justine
