Kathak Dance Classes and Music Lessons To Teach Sitar, Sarod and Violin

In collaboration with Amina Khayyam Dance Company, The Asian Centre will be conducting Kathak dance classes and Music lessons to teach Sitar, Sarod and Violin by William Hofmann.  

KATHAK DANCE CLASSES:

Start Date and Time:  Every Thursday - starting from 29 January 2015.  Time:
from 4:30 pm to 6 pm

Free Taster Session:  On Thursday, 22 January 2015.  Time: from 4.30 pm to 6
pm

Venue:  Asian Centre, 8 Caxton Road, Wood Green, London N22 6TB

Term Fee:  £70 for 11 weeks



MUSIC LESSONS TO TEACH SITAR, SAROD & VIOLIN:

Start Date and Time:  Every Tuesday from 5 pm to 6 pm

Start Date:  20 January 2015

FEES:  £60 for 8 weeks or £10 per session

Participants are advised to bring their own instruments

GENERAL SYLLABUS FOR THE MUSIC CLASS:

Class 1:  Learning Saregama:  How to sing and play Saregama on the
instrument

Class 2:  Practicing instrumental exercises and how to practice

Class 3:  Introduction to Rag Yaman, Learning the notes and particulars of
Rag Yaman

Calss 4:  Introduction to the Tabla, Taals and Taal Basics

Class 5:  Playing Alap

Class6:  Playing the composition in Rag Yaman

Class 7:  Learning and playing Taans

Class 8:  performing the composition, and Raga performance


Space for both the classes is  limited and therefore you are advised to book in advance as soon as possible.
