Joanne Calls For Mayor To Get His Skates On and Electrify The Gospel Oak To Barking Line

The following is a press release from Joanne McCartney's office:

Following a review into orbital rail services in London the Transport Committee, including Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, have written to Mayor Johnson to ask him to get his skates on before £25m of funding is lost. Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said: "The Department of Transport has offered £25m to electrify the Gospel Oak to Barking line. TfL need to conduct a detailed engineering study of the project to determine what the total cost will be."

It is possible that the £25m will cover all the costs of the electrification works and so there will be no addition costs to TfL

Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said: "Mayor Johnson needs to get his skates on before the offer of £25m is withdraw by the Department for Transport."
