For those following the development... I spoke to a builder today and they said the work to extend would take about a week and that they will be linking the two units. He seemed to think when they had done it would be really really good but as it’s his job maybe he is just saying that!

I hope they get rid of that horrible trip hazard running down the middle. I'm all for places being quirky, but that is just dangerous.

The word on Sunday was ‘closed for three days,’ including Monday, so all things working out, Jam should be open Thursday. Once the knock through is done, disruption should be minimised to work fitting out the additional space. IMHO.

The door was open to look into earlier today, and it looks pretty splendid in the new unit.
I walked round the inside with Mario at Christmas time (he is the chap that was there selling Xmas trees, his family own the unit, and used to run the florist there). Its a big space, and should make a really nice bar/ restaurant.
Its great to see businesses thriving on green lanes, particularly ones that aren't bookmakers.

Just had a quick look inside. Looking good. More than doubles the space. They're open later on but only in the original space. They're hoping to have the extension open by Thursday next. Extension has a bar area at the front. They are planning on offering salads/cakes from the new area during the day. The new area will be available to hire for parties etc. At night the original area should have more space to dance with the live music. :)
