Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
iPad screen.
Just wondering if anyone has had an iPad screen replaced recently ?
Our iPad screen has cracked and apple want £180 to replace it and the shop in crouch end want £100. I don't know anyone that has replaced a screen and would like advice if it's worth paying the full whack to apple to have it done or if I would get just as good a job done in the crouch end shop ?
I would appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.

Have you tried asking Fasttech on Green Lanes - apparently they are now 'specialising' in Mac repair? They've just changed my Macbook hard drive for about half the price I paid in Crouch End (which if it's the same shop as I went to, I would not recommend for several reasons including that they were very rude).

Were you happy with fast tech ? Will go and check it out. I wondered if anyone would know the difference in screens I don't want to pay less and get an inferior screen but if the screens are pretty much the same I would be happy to go with someone charging less

Yes I wasn't happy with Mr D - the Fasttech guys are nice and seem competent. They did upgrade my operating system, after I asked them not to - took a few days to get everything up and running because of that but it's all working fine.

Used Fone Us today - 294 Seven Sisters Rd, Finsbury Park, London N4 2AA - they have four stores across London - replacement screen was £50, new battery £25. Recommended.
