Hi Folks
We received a letter addressed to 'the occupier' from Revenues and Benefits and Customer Services Haringey Council, asking us some badly worded and strange questions. Here are a couple: "Was the property furnished from the date you purchased or rented it to the date you moved in?" and "If you purchased it, please (provide) the name and address of your solicitor- in case of any query) Has anyone else received a form like this- is it genuine?

Hi Michelle
If in doubt,I would say : contact the council
They can be contacted by phone,email...but you probably know.

It seems a bit fishy to me.

Many thanks for the link- i have sent them an email.
Hi, I was curious so googled.. assuming it is this form: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/council_tax_registration_form.pdf
it is the form to register for council tax:
http://www.haringey.gov.uk/index/advice_tax_and_benefits/counciltax...
It does look like it's actually from the council.
yes - its the same form. We have been paying council tax since we bought the property six years ago and being asked for my solicitors details is a joke. Also, by signing the form i agree to Haringey Council taking court action against me if the information is incomplete!!!
there is no title at the top of the form. Further down the form it says 'Occupation Form'
