Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This (Weds) morning, whilst making her coffee at 5.30am my wife luckily spotted from the corner of her eye movement in the rear garden.  She saw a couple of guys creeping up to our rear kitchen door.  When they saw her staring at her, they stopped & froze.  It was when she screamed & they saw me bolting past her towards them, they jumped over all rear garden fences towards Wightman Road.  Gutted as I just missed grabbing the ankle of one of them - just as well though as the red mist was over me and I don't know what I would have done to him.  Called police who were coincidentally on an un-related matter in Hewitt Road and arrested the two east Europeans within a minute or so who were acting suspiciously. They'd never have thought the long arm of the law would've caught them that quick?!  Police dog unit came as well which was re-assuring (& amusing for the kids) & sniffed out where they came from and where they went.

I hope they fingerprint /DNA to see if they are related to recent early morning break-ins on the ladder /Wightman Road.  The sods broke my fence panel as well..!  About time the police had some luck in apprehending intruders virtually in the act, & I thank the police for acting so quickly.

I know its a bit of a hassle & I never used to, but the downstairs alarm is going to be switched on overnight from now on & I strongly recommend others (with an alarm) to do so as well.

Well you've certainly had an eventful night. Well done to you for your quick thinking. Let's hope these are the ones responsible for all the others.
Glad to hear they got caught. Are you near the passage or did they somehow trek across back gardens in search of potential targets? Of so, that presumably involved some impressive fence leaping!
I bet they are loyal customers to one of the bookmakers and their casino machines.

I don't think you'll get good odds on that...

No-where near the passage, they were definitely targetting our property - not that we've got anything to knick anyway.  We are up the top near the river.  Gotta hand it to them though, their fence jumping was quite impressive - it reminded me of a scene from 'Hot Fuzz' when Sergeant Angel (Simon Pegg) was chasing the hoodie through the gardens - great film!

Bizarre time of day for a break-in but these zombies must have been desperate. The police will probably let them off with a caution if they found nothing incriminating on them or their finger prints connected to other crimes. Maybe they were touting for gardening work!

Yes, put that alarm on downstairs over-night. The incredible thing is so few houses in this area have alarms at all. Better investment than insurance.

I noticed a tweeting sonar owl that goes off at night should it detect movement with flashing eye's and owl sounds, think I might set my garden up according. Just enough raise the alarm.

Could be handy for a zombie invasion also.
