Hi
I’m looking to get someone to insulate our draughty wooden ground floor ready for next winter.
We have easy access from the cellar below so no need to lift the floorboards up.
Does anyone have any advice on materials to use (preferably sustainable) and companies they can recommend?
Many thanks

If you have easy access from below the work is so easy and you don't need to hire anyone to do it. Just buy some insulation boards the thickness you wish (several brands available; most popular one is Kingspan). They're easily cut with a handsaw. Just cut them and shove them between the joists and job done!
Thanks, I can’t really do it myself due to an injury and I don’t want to use PIR boards as those companies were complicit in Grenfell. Also I’ve read it’s not a good long term solution due to risk of moisture condensation on the joists so vapour control membranes are needed etc.
