Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

If you're visiting us, get off at Shirley Robertson, Malcolm Cooper or Theresa Zabell

Tfl have got into the Olympic groove by publishing a couple of reconfigured underground maps replacing station names with olympic stars.

It looks like the Team GB Olympic Medallists Map only covers Zones 1 & 2, but we do feature on the Olympic Legends Map. Perhasp that's the right way round since the medallists' map is a stonking £49.99, whilst the legends map comes in at a more modest £3.99.

Harringay's three local TfL stops are:

Harringay Green Lanes: Malcolm Cooper

Manor House:  Theresa Zabell

Turnpike Lane: Shirley Robertson

I'll leave it to the sport geeks amongst us to fill in the gaps as to who these folk are.

TfL describe the map as follows:

The Olympic Legends map is a unique interpretation of the Underground Map.  Each Underground line is dedicated to a Olympic sporting discipline or disciplines from basketball to track and field events – athletes who have won more than 5 gold medals are highlighted as podium stars.  The map, however, also features other extraordinary athletes who may not have won an Olympic medal but are recognised for their abilities or in some cases, famous loses - athletes like Dorando Pietri, who won the 1908 Olympics marathon race, but was later disqualified as he was helped over the finishing line by a well meaning umpire! Look out for the sporting stars who have also featured in films – see if you can spot Harold Sakata, the weightlifting Olympic silver medallist who played Odd Job in the film Goldfinger.
