Yes thats what i did. So once all the water stopped i had a look...

This is the problem, a plastic threaded bit of a tap connection had snapped:

Thanks for all the plumber suggestions everyone, sadly none of them could come this evening though.

What to do, what to do? Superglue!?

and all back in place...fingers crossed...

water back on...one minute...two minutes...five minutes...

Darn. Looks like no showers tomorrow morning for us.

Take it to Lynbo on Green Lanes. They may well have a replacement, and it seems you know what you're up to with a spanner!
