How to vote in local body elections

I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, but these are some things you should think about given what I have discovered about local elections in the past four years.

1. If you want someone to be your councillor, you need to vote for them, don't rely on others to elect them. It's worth repeating: If you want someone to be your councillor, you need to vote for them.
2. You have three votes, and it's not always wise to use all of them. If you have two candidates that you really want and a third you're a bit "meh" about, just use two of your votes. The third vote could be the difference between your first choice getting in and your "meh" choice getting in instead.
3. If you want someone to be your councillor, you need to vote for them.
