Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
How interested is the world in Harringay?
I'm not sure there's a good (or polite) answer to this. The new (to me at any rate) Wikirank tool which shows how many visits each Wikipedia page gets, shows more traffic to the main page on Harringay than I'd have thought.
More than 5,000 views over the past three months:
Compare that with other areas:
- Wood Green was viewed 916 times
- Crouch End was viewed 1,362 times
- Hornsey was viewed 1,644 times
- Haringey was viewed 1,807 times
- Holloway was viewed 2,088
- Camden was viewed 4,724 times
- Islington was viewed 8,873 times
Wonder where the logic lies in that?

I should point out that Highgate and Hampstead score a lot higher, but then they're world famous(-ish).

Could 'Harringay' figures have been bumped up by those interested in spelling issues versus 'Haringey'? Also, has the 'Harringay' page undergone a lot of editing recently? If so, again, that would increase the page visits as editors view their handiwork.

Good thoughts.
There could be what Wikipedians would call a "disambiguation issue", but you'd have thought the Haringey page would have witnessed the same traffic. At any rate, if they were after the Council/Borough they'd have ultimately landed on the Haringey page and that would have shown up in the stats for Haringey.
I have to take the blame for the Harringay pages. I found them at the start of 2007, when they were all about crime & grime. "That's not the Harringay I know", I thought and what was meant to be a little fiddling round the edges turned into a wholesale rewrite + the addition of about a dozen related pages. But most of that was doe in 2007. There have been 15 minor edits this year.
I'm wondering if it's the number of inbound links I've created on other Wikipedia pages. Anyone got any other ideas?

Why do you always leave out Tottenham? Shouldn't Harringay be compared against it?
Tottenham, Harringay's easterly neighbour was viewed 12,408 times beating all the above... and is of course, extremely World Famous.. It also has pages in Danish, French, Italian, Latvian, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian and Swedish.. But strangely no German page (oh, what have I let myself in for)..
Harringay on the other hand, does have a page 'auf Deutsch'.. but in no other languages..
