HORNSEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY EVENTS AND BOOKS
The Hornsey Historical Society (HHS) have some events coming up you may be interested in and 2 new books about Hornsey to purchase
The events are on the attached
The books are about Middlesex including Hornsey and other local boroughs now in London and The Campsbourne estate. Both on sale at the HHS Old Schoolhouse in Tottenham Lane which is open on Thursday and Saturday and also on Sunday 18th September as part of London Open House weekend
There is currently a free exhibition to go with this at Bruce Castle. HoL member John Hinshelwood has written both.
A Vision of Middlesex is a wonderful book full of old photos of many local places of interest with local history thrown in.
The Campsbourne book - I can highly recommend this especially to anyone who lives on the estate to find out about how it developed from fields to large council estate in under 100 years.
This follows on from the author’s successful guided walking tour last year.
