Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello,

'April is the cruellest month', from TS Elliot's poem, 'The Wasteland'. Yes, this is about the vagaries of new life, but most of all about the expectations that come with Spring, which are often snatched away, not only in the aftermath of World War 1, but today even before hopes take root.

What with rises in National Insurance, fuel and utility bills, council tax to name just a few, times are even more challenging making the setting of plans difficult for many.

These challenges present to our Food Bank clients, many of whom we are seeing week in, week out on a Saturday. We are seeing nearly as many people as we saw at the end of last year in two sessions. We continue to actively explore providing support, information and signposting to our visitors so as to help them in more ways than 'just food'.

This though remains our core activity. If you are able to give then we would be grateful for donations of standard packets of rice, tins of fruit, meat, biscuits, juice, halal foods and toiletries.

You can also contact us with direct queries on 07305892314 or by emailing gospelcfoodbank@gmail.com. Details of our opening times are at www.gospelcentre.co.uk/food-bank.html

So as Easter approaches let us together continue to provide for those in need bringing a ray of hope with it.

Many thanks,
