Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello,
Does anyone meet up on the Ladder or there abouts for a lunch to break up the day for homeworkers!

Please let me know, or maybe if you are interested in starting a group with me?

Thank you.

Hi Adrian,

I had a similar elevenses idea, and was going to make it slightly online themed - most people working from home also run their own social media so it's nice to keep up to date on developments.

The Devonshire is a nice space in the mornings and they would love to bring some of these things into their space, so will be very supportive. I was thinking Wednesday 11am.

Does that sound like something you've been thinking of?

Ok. Where is the Devonshire?

Adrian.

The Devonshire is managed by a Harringay lad, but is in Crouch End Centre. There are lots of Harringay alternatives. Perhaps at least alternate with a Harringay venue to suport local business? Cafe Lemon, Moka. Both want to make themselves available as community hubs.
But if you really want to meet at a Harringay oasis in the desert that is Crouch End, try the Harringay Arms just a few steps south west of the Devonshire, at the end of Crouch Hill near the jct with Crouch End Hill. An Irish pub with mirrored illusions of space, myriad allusions to real culture but no delusions of grandeur.
I would rather meet in Green Lanes area. I might start something myself!
Adrian.

Hi Adrian, there is already a homeworkers group here: http://www.harringayonline.com/group/harringayhomeworkers?commentId...

I've been to one lunch organised by this group late last year. There haven't been other ones since then, but I am sure other members would welcome any suggestions and someone taking the lead in organising new lunch meet ups.

I am on maternity leave right now but I'll be happy to join these lunches once I go back to work.

Hi Adrian,

I'd be interested in meeting up other people working from home, staves off cabin fever! I've also emailed the main Homeworkers group too.. so perhaps there might be a meeting soon?! Im on Hewitt Road, so keen to keep it local too. Best wishes,

Rachel

Fantastic!

Hi Rachel,

The existing homeworker's group has been a bit quiet, but I'm sure if you post a suggested time/date there (and here) there'd be a bunch of takers.

As for venues - sadly there are no pubs round here that do food and are open at lunchtimes except the Tollgate on Turnpike Lane. Cafe Lemon has been popular in the past, as it deals with bigger groups quite well.
