Hello everyone,
Just wondering how much other people in the Ladder are paying for home and car insurances?
Our ground floor flat insurance is soon due for renewal and prices in every comparator are extremely high (£500+). Same for our car insurance (Nissan Qashqai), which is now priced over £1500 a year!!!
Do you experience the same high insurances costs for those living in the Ladder? Do you have any recommendation for an insurance broker?

I think both home and car insurance costs have exploded in the last year — I remember Hugh posting about it some months ago —and my buildings and contents quotes (I haven’t got a car) were vastly higher when renewals were due, though in St Ann’s, not on the Ladder. I then went to a broker recommended by Which? — Alan Boswell Insurance (alanboswell.com) — who found better prices, if still not as good as formerly. Boswell aren’t in London, but phone and e-mail comms were seamless; whether you’d do better by yourself with online intro offers I don’t know, but I hadn’t the time to research.
