Re:  Yoga Class on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Asian Centre, Wood Green

Asian Centre is conducting regular Yoga & Reflexology classes on Tuesdays every week.

This is an unparalleled opportunity to get into the world of authentic Yoga and Naturopathy.  Our sessions are part of a healthy lifestyle and are highly subsidised by the involved charities and the Council.  They are highly beneficial for people suffering from obesity, diabetes, arthritis, hyper-tension, back pain, thyroid related illness, varicose veins, migraine and even cancer.  Our Yoga class includes elements of Reflexology, Facial Massage and Indian Head Massage.  It provides an opportunity to learn, participate and practise various aspects of holistic health including Pranayama (powerful breathing techniques) and meditation.

Everyone is welcome to participate in these classes.  Please refrain from eating for at least two hours before the session, wear loose clothes and bring your own Yoga mat.  Details of the sessions are as follows:

Venue:  Asian Centre, 8 Caxton Road, Wood Green, London N22 6TB.  There is plenty of parking space in the side roads and within the premises

Time:  10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesdays

Fee:  6 Weeks - £25 for members and £30 for non-members - you may join the class at any time during the session

Details of the contents of the class are as mentioned in the flyer at the end of this email.

Please note that we also conduct Yoga classes and Complementary Therapies workshops throughout London.  For further details please contact Dipak on djashapara@btinternet.com or phone him on 07956 486 146.

Yours is a rather a biased and one-sided view!  There are many highly academic health professionals who are exactly of opposite opinion than that of Professor Colquhoun!! I suggest it would be better to refrain from making a ad hoc sterio-type comment without properly scrutinising both sides of the coin!!!

If nature-cure based on Yoga and other Complementary Therapies are so base-less, they would not be taught in reputable universities throughout the world!!!!

Many elements of alternative therapies including Yoga and Meditation are widly accepted and highly recommended by many consultants in NHS.  Internet and litrature is littered with the proof of positive effect of many of these therapies.  I am closely connected with some UK universities and I do not have knowledge that they are closing down these courses - can anyone please provide me with some evidence!

Pharmacutical companies that control steroid and drug-based medicines use their immense wealth to do the research and publicise their products - however, the institutions which practice and promote "Yoga & Meditation" do not have either the resources or the money!!

Thanks for clarifying - but complementary therapies does include Yoga and Meditation.

Asian Centre, the charity which has put up the flyer, conducts workshops mainly in Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama (breathing techniques within Yoga).  However, some of these workshops have elements of Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Swedish Body Massage.  It is a proven fact that many of such therapies increases blood circulation to Body & Brain!
