HoL 'trip' part of the paradigm shift?

Some months back I set up a Harringay 'trip' on check-in service Gowalla. It mixes sights, history and venues of Harringay. Gowalla users need to check in to a minimum of ten places. They then earn the "Harringay by the Locals" badge.

My idea was to get folk seeing Harringay beyond the obvious. With the latest trip completion today including a photo of the Gardens Community Garden, I'm beginning to wonder if it might be working a little.

I'd love to be able to build the same on rival Foursqaure's platform, but it's not offered by them. Shame really since I think 4S are far and away the leaders in the field.

However, I have spent some time working with the folk at Foursquare to tidy things up a bit in Harringay. We're now looking neat and tidy and I've mentioned it to a few of the traders which is resulting in a few more businesses popping up in our 4S hood. I've even set up spots for the festival which can be used to beam useful info to 4S users at the festival.
