Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just had an email from The Times. They've been following our Twitter stream, quoted us on their live blog and are interested to hear if anyone's heard any rumours about tonight.

are these the same sort of rumours that the Met Police have said are ill-informed?
Which rumours?
Trying to find a reference online, but footage of a police press conference on BBC News earlier showed the police opened it by saying that rumours on social networking sites about tonight are ill-informed.

Okay, so you're having a swipe.

With regards to the first comment, my emailed reply to the Times asking for the source was: "You'll laugh, it was Sky News".

Re the second comment, it was misused by The Times. It was a reply in response to a question asking about a tweet of mine reporting seeing police vans and cars racing round Crouch End with lights and sirens. The person asked if the riots were kicking off again. I replied:

"Don't think so. Not sure what it was about. Imagine there are a lot of tightly wound springs around."

Rumours? No, I don't do rumours at the best of times and certainly not at a time like this. Disappointed you should jump to the conclusion that you did Aidan.

Perhaps a little less jumping to conclusions is called for.

Wasn't having a swipe at all Hugh. I wasn't commenting on what's on The Times' site. I was making a general point about the potential vacuity of whatever they were after. I'm sorry I didn't make that clearer.
Dagnabbit. I suspected as I was writing my reply that I was being over-sensitive. My apologies and a big red face. In my defence, I was just trying to protect HoL's reputation.

No worries!

Looks like the rain's stopped now. Not sure that's something we want tonight. On the plus side, Wood Green High Road's much better without its usual traffic jam.

Well now, that's a step up from the Hornsey Journal - and at least they've asked.
