Highgate's Fair in the Square bigger than ever

The Fair in the Square, is a red letter day in the Highgate diary. This year it's on Saturday, June 16 2012, between 12.30pm and 5.30pm, Held in Pond Square, Highgate, its entertainments, stalls and events set the Square buzzing.

Two stages will showcase the talents of local ballet schools, choirs and musicians. On the programme so far are performances by The Hornsey School for Girls Steel Band, The Highgate Choral Society and the cast from Upstairs at The Gatehouse.

There will be lots for younger visitors to enjoy, both as participants and spectators, with creative activities in the Cass Kids tent, Punch and Judy shows, Morris Dancers, roundabout ride, fire engines and much more. Teenagers will be clamouring for the bungee jump and climbing wall, while the Dog Show will sets tails wagging.

Charities, local societies and shops are amongst the 130 stalls selling a range of jewellery, plants, books, crafts, alternative therapies and vintage clothes. New for this year will be a country fair tent organised in conjunction with the Highgate Horticultural Society with displays of cakes, produce and craft made by talented local people, young and old.
