It seems that we now have the opportunity to feed in to a national level policy debate on this.
Those members who were on the site last year may remember the
discussion about whether the Haringey People was too focussed on PR and insufficiently directed at informing.
No simple answers to that one, but the DCLG published
a consultation last month asking what controls should be lifted or added to the freedom of Councils to direct the way it communicates with people in its area.
I think this is an important issue for local democracy and I hope I have the wherewithal to put my money where my mouth is and make a response to the consultation. The more of us who do so, the better.

Tell Them What you Think website. So responding is a doddle (It's just the reading that takes the time).
