And is it genuinely Neapolitan?

I have and it's very genuinely Neapolitan; everyone who works there is from Naples, including the owner. I stop in on the way home from town quite often for a quick espresso and a couple of sfoliatelle (mini pastries) and I love the place. I lived in Naples for a couple of months in a previous life and it's the real thing. There's an ever growing Italian and particularly Napolitata community in Green Lanes, and they all hang out there like it's their headquarters, watching Napoli play on the telly.
The pizza isn't a top drawer wood fired job, but it's not trying to be - it's pizza al taglio - pizza pre-made in a tray and then sold by the slice. The one with Napoli sausage and rapini (Kind of like broccoli) is a Naples classic and makes a great and quick snack lunch. If you go, you'll probably be the only person not from Italy or even Naples in there and there will be Italian tv on, which couldn't be more authentic!
If you're into no-frills Southern Italian places, then this is for you. The espresso is particularly good and good value.
It's on Green Lanes, just after Homebase walking towards manor House.
They don't only have pizza but a lot of authentic neapolitan snacks that are even better! My fav is panino napoletano, a roll of dough filled with cheese and pancetta, give it a try!
I have to agree with all the above.nothing against other local places using the Italian cache who are not Italian, but if you want a genuine Napolitan experience it's Borboni.Buon lavoro ragazzi!
i had two pizzas (well me and husband!) - the Borbooni and Ortolana - TOTALLY DELISH and better than any standard pizza I've had before. I will go again AND try their great looking deserts e.g. Babba and Sfogliatella.
I would really recommend this place to anyone wanting to try real southern Italian food, not just pizza. Prices are also honest, as they should be: genuine Italian food is not supposed to be posh.
Today I went with my daughter (who loves going there) and we had a small pizza, meatballs with tomato sauce and a lovely Parmigiana di Melanzane, accompanied by freshly made bread. They also have great coffee and traditional cakes (try espresso with "cremina" if you are not too worried about sugar!).
The place has recently been refurbished and relaunched, with a wider food range, a calmer ambience inside (without the football....soft Italian jazzy music on instead e.g. the wonderful Pino Daniele). The walls are covered with pictures of famous Neapolitan actors and musicians. There is also free wifi. What's not to like!
