A worthwhile campaign run by the tireless Aussie Omega Warehouse resident Caitlin Strongarm (I forgive her the typo on the poster, particularly as she has it right on her website!) Here's what they're tying to save- the birthplace of Challen's huge Silver Jubilee piano.
Location: Omega Works, 167 Hermitage Rd, Harringay, London N4 1LZ (see Google map below)

This brings back memories for me. I was born in Harringay Road in 1949, accompanied my Mum as a babe in pram to the public laundry in the 'District', walked past bottom of Hermitage Road daily for 4 years enroute to and from South Grove Secondary School (1960-64) and eventually worked for an engineering company located in what is now known as the 'Warehouse District', from 1968-1972. Good memories of that time. So from a personal point of view I think The 'Warehouse District' should be preserved......it's part of the history of The 'District' and part of my history. Along with hundreds of others who may not be aware of this situation. I wish you well.
