Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Harringay Warehouse District to strut their stuff at Mayday Event

The artistic crew who inhabit the myriad spaces in Harringay's Warehouse District are holding a Mayday Festival.

There's to be live music and performances including ceilidh dancing , a roving mariachi band and more.

Local food, beer and crafts will also be on sale.

It'll be running between 13:00 and 21:00 on Saturday May 4th in what they've called Catwalk Place - N15 6RH (You can see the exact location here).

Surely you mean the Tewkesbury Warehouse district? Or perhaps the North Finsbury District? Or how about the  Woodberry Ups and Downs?

I've decided to call it Keith.

Great. Keith District it is, then.

How far does West Keith extend? What's the boundary line between Upper Anne and Frederick Central? Can I use my Wulfthryth parking permit in the Cynethrythe CPZ?

It kinda borders North Walter. Know where I mean?

I've a rough idea, Do you mean that part of Yaw Gardens where the Queen Agnieszka pub used to stand?

Nail on the head.

Think it's "Catwalk Place" a gated courtyard just off Overbury.

Incidentally Alan, Thomas - the founder of "Clear Village" is coming down at some point as he wants to get involved in establishing a formal entrance to the warehouse community and we discussed perhaps having "Catwalk Place" as our market square.

This is one stage of the redevelopment solution of the dodgy alley around the corner (rape alley tottenham).

Thanks Ingo - corrected. I think it's wonderful whatever it's called!

Catwalk Place (streetview) There's a little map on the wall to the left of the gate showing the buildings that form the cluster known as 'Catwalk Place'.

A few more bits leaking about on what'll be happening in the Warehouse District Party:

5 Cotton Mill

The occupants of 5CM will be joined by a bunch of local (and not so local) musicians to write and record an album of songs from scratch in a 24 hour period. "The more people who can pop by and play an instrument, contribute to a song or just come up with silly ideas the better it will be".

3 Overbury Road

"All things quintessentially English - we'll be hosting a Mad Hatters Tea party. Your host, Miss B of the Manor, with her trusted helpers will be serving cucumber sandwiches, scones with homemade jam and best builders tea.  We want your help to 'make-do-and-mend' by contributing a patch of fabric and stitching it into Manor blanket. Also get your grotesque wobble face photo taken."

3 Overbury Road (on the street)

Sparks, spanners and steamy welding. "We want you to pop along and help us create a metal monster of epic proportions. Share your skills or learn new something new in welding".

This sounds amazing - I'm v excited! I did chance upon a warehouse sale that was happening in that 'Catwalk Place' bit about a year ago, and there's certainly scope for a really fun street party here as there's such a huge amount of space.

Soiunds fantastic and just what we need to bring locals and artists together.

Did you see the article in the Haringey Independent last week?
