Ever wondered what an edible 3D model of Harringay Arena shopping park would look like? Or how to craft the perfect Salisbury pub out of spun sugar?
Me neither. But I have wondered what a Harringay-themed baking competition would produce, and I'm excited to find out.
St Paul's Harringay is delighted to be able to host our annual Harringay Village Fete this year, on Saturday 3rd July, 12-4pm. (We're not pretending Harringay is a rural village; we're just bringing some of the best rural village traditions to Harringay.) We'll have a bouncy castle and a craft table for kids, a tombola, barbecue, cake stall and Christian book table. And, excitingly, a Harringay-themed baking competition.
Enter a bake as simple or as complex as you like; it just needs to be Harringay themed. For instance: a cookie with an H on it, a traybake with a Ladder pattern on it, or something more elaborate. Drop it off with us before 3pm on 3rd July and we'll award prizes in the following age bands:
- 0-7s
- 8-11s
- 12-17
- 18+
This is a bit of fun and designed to help raise a smile after a long lockdown.
Get ready... set... bake!

Sadly I've had to cancel the Harringay Village Fete this year due to a truly awful weather forecast: thunder and lighting all afternoon on Saturday! It had to be an outdoor event due to Covid, so we have no wet weather options.
Thank you to Max from the Dusty Knuckle bakery who was going to be our guest judge in the baking competitions, and to all who were enthusiastically preparing things to bring along.
I will open the St Paul's Church building for anyone to have a look around on Saturday from 12-4pm, and will be on hand to drink tea and chat. Please drop in if you like.
