Harringay ridesharing service

If people are interested in ride-sharing, I've set up a Harringay Online group on rideshare site, Pick up Pal.

If you need to catch a lift somewhere, you can put in a request for getting a ride to where you need to go. If a driver likes the price you're offering, then you've got a match (I haven't tested it, but no reason why the price can't be zero, I guess).

Signing up and bidding is easy enough - let PickupPal know where you're located, and where you're going. If a driver is going in the same direction at the same time as you, then it works out for everyone. The rider gets a ride, the driver just covered their gas costs, PickupPal gets a 7% commission on the deal, and the trees get to breathe a little easier. PickupPal is promoting this service as a delivery option for small packages as well.

Of course safety is an issue, which is why PickupPal lets users rate each other, and stats are kept on users, indicating the number of rides they’ve given and taken, as well as the number of packages they’ve delivered. You can also set gender preferences for who you’d like to ride with, and drivers can also indicate their license plate and car description.
