Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I just got an email about a survey of Harringay online users. It asked a lot of questions, without saying what it was being used for. Is it endorsed by HoL? Is there information on the site about it?

Quote from email;

As part of a research project being run by the London Councils organisation the Networked Neighbourhoods is conducting a short survey.

Hugh Flouch is part of Networked Neighbourhoods.

Wonder what that 'prize' might be.
Anne, it is endorsed by us. Here's more about it..

It's focussed on a number of study sites across London. Because of my involvement with HoL, HoL is not a focus study site. Nonetheless, Kevin still wants to collect data from HoL because it's so well known in this field and to help flesh out the picture.

Do go back to Kevin if you have any more questions.
Hi Hugh
As part of "citizen empowerment", I would have appreciated being given some notice of this survey rather than finding an email with a strange address in my Inbox. I also note that you have more than an "involvement" with this company/group being named as the Project Manager.

So that I can make an informed decision as to whether I would like to contribute or not, could you please let me know:
1. how the information entered in the survey will be used
2. what else will email addresses and other information gathered be used for
3. what 3rd party companies is this group linked to
4. who will this group be selling information to.
Yvonne,

Sorry if the strange email was unwelcome. We hoped it wouldn't be strange since it's sent from the same place as the weekly update.

As far as my relationship with the project is concerned, I linked to the London Councils page which clearly states I'm the project manager. I only used the word "involvement" in relation to HoL and I think everyone knows how I relate to HoL.

In answer to your other questions:

1. The information will be used by local councils to help them understand whether / how to interact with neighbourhood websites.
2. The email addresses will only be used for competition notification purposes, as stated.
3. This group is linked to no other 3rd party companies
4. This group will not sell the information to anyone. It's commissioned by the public sector.

Please feel free to ask any questions you like. There's no hidden agenda here. My interest in the project is my passionate belief in the potential of new media to support local people to have an impact on their neighbourhood. My distancing myself from the part of the project that relates to HoL is to ensure it's as objective as the other parts.
No one was pretending to be HoL Anne. The mail was clearly signed by Kevin Harris and included:

Sorry if it wasn't clear. My fault entirely.

No email addresses were given out to anyone Anne. The mail was sent by HoL for Kevin.
