Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that we've found a venue for the market:

North Harringay Primary School's playground!!!

It's in the middle of the ladder, a beautiful spot, there's a seating area, a park accross the street and space for all our stalls, food vans and customers.

I've thought long and hard about Finsbury Park and other venues but I like the idea of the market being on the Ladder, people coming out of their homes to shop, eat and have a good time.

I also didn't want a venue too close to the high street, cause I'd like people to make the choice to come to the market instead of a walk through area, if you know what I mean.

The stallholders are all very excited and we're thinking about how best to publicise the market to locals, apart from HoL, Twitter, Facebook and a website, so if anyone has any ideas...

The market is starting in June and will run every Sunday 11-3.

More info tba soon!

If anyone would like to be involved, help out or anything else, please get in touch: jessica@foxycooks.co.uk

Cheers!

Great news. Thanks for the update.

Oh well done! I have had to put my idea on hold due to other committments - funnily enough I chose SOUTH Harringay as my location!

Very best of luck and I shall look forward to it.

exciting news!!!

Wonderful, what a good idea and great location - thanks!

Fantastic, good work Jessica!

Ideas to publicise;

1. Article in Hornsey Journal nearer the time

2. Link up with the landlord Dave of The Salisbury or his assistant Nick. Some flyers on the pub tables or even better, use something a little more permanent for each table, if they'll let you - (Nick has a sideline in doing up furniture which he may want to promote at the market). There was a video on here somewhere about what he does.

3. Eventually make a banner? (possibly to put up on the school railings). Rob Tao I believe prints a banner for about £100 at his local business.

4. Similar to idea no.2; have you linked up with Kevin at Cafe Moka? ( promote each others businesses)
