Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have you been visited by a candidate or one of their representatives? Had election-related material posted through your door (if so, please scan a copy)? Are you planning to vote on local or national issues? I don't live in the ward so I don't know the level of activity by the candidates/parties. Just curious. And a bit of an elections geek.

It's a two horse race. Sadly during normal election time we have a plethora of seats and some crap candidates to choose from. This time we have two aces. The others are just in it for practice.

Surely the local candidate, with eight years' experience, has the 'edge'?

Zena Brabazon has more than 8 years experience four as local councillor in nearby St Anns and many more as a local community worker. She made quite an impact in St Anns winning funding for Green Lanes improvements.

Compare like to like. I meant as a councillor - and Harringay one at that.

But no gain with St Ann's Hospital sell off, was Zena active campaigning?
Not with a suggestion of a red route, I'm afraid.

John: Karen is one, who is the other ?

Zeena.

I have to say Jarelle does have an excellent team behind him, and if six years working in the community gets our first Green elected, I'll be happy. Harringay is a very progressive ward. We already have two Labour Councilors, I wouldn't have thought homogeny is good for democracy.

Saw Natalie Bennett, leader of the Green Party out and about with the local team this morning. The Labour team are also out today.

I've heard that the feedback the Labour team are getting from 'Labour voters' on the doorstep is they're unhappy with the current Labour Party turmoil and are therefore considering voting Greens or the LDs.

I notice that Iain McNicol has decided that 600 people in Brighton and Hove can't be trusted to elect officers so has put them into administration. This is the same guy who did NOTHING over St Ann's. A lot of these right wing Labour MPs should be in the Lib Dems or the Tories where their politics are a better fit but they find the Labour brand better for getting elected. I cannot believe that there are not 170 socialists out there in the Labour Party who would make better MPs than the ones rebelling against Jeremy Coryn's leadership.

Please stick to Harringay.
