Harringay Arena to feature in Metro

1948 Basketball competition at Harringay Arena

I've just been approached by TfL who are planning an article about the 1948 Olympics on their travel page in the Metro newspaper. They were asking permission to use some of the photos of 1948 basketball competition at Harringay Stadium in our historical photos collection.

Keep 'em peeled and let mw know if you see the article.

Harringay stadium is in Borough of Haringey. Bruce Castle museum may have archive material/ more photos ?

Thanks Gerry. This was about the Arena, rather than the Stadium (Stadium outdoor; Arena indoor). I've been up to the Bruce Castle Archives and haven't seen any Arena or Stadium photos that I don't have.

Hi Hugh, I worked there as a volunteer 3+ years ago. The photos then were not digitally catalogued and often under only one heading/classification- which meant that photos u need, could be under many headings in different boxes.( this is a common problem I am sure) The "ephemera" was separately catalogued I think.
