Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

TODAY I bought a travel plug adaptor to enable an Australasian plug to fit a UK electric socket.

What a huge difference in price  for what I believe to be the same item, between two nearby stores:

Sainsburys: £3.15

Homebase (once owned by Sainsbury): £5.99

i.e. Homebase charges 90% more, for the same item ...

Grief, that is a big difference. I get the sense that Homebase are never as cheap as you think they should be.

I wouldn't have bothered with either - use the hardware/electrical shops on Green Lanes. They're usually cheaper than anywhere... and nicer service :-)
@Andrea: I was about towrite "you probably ould have got it from Lido's for £2"

"Usually" or "Probably" could have got it for £2 (or £1 or 50p) is not the same as that being the actual price or an actual item for sale.

There's probably somewhere I could get it for 25p, but that's just conjecture.

I'm talking about *actual* prices with real availability. I'm happy to listen to evidence.

Totally off topic, but noticed today that Yasar Helim are enterprisingly selling German lettuce ...

support the small retailer!  I just got an adaptor for £3 at the electrical retailer by Seven Sisters station :-)
