Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The youth music outfit – ‘Shed Band’ – Haringey’s premiere inclusive youth band, launched their debut album – entitled ‘Unorthodox’, at a high profile launch event on Tuesday night in Fresh&Loud Basement @ THE PLATFORM -a new youth space on Hornsey Road.

Shed Band is made up of young musicians aged 11-17; that work with experienced industry musicians to learn a range of instruments, write their own songs and develop their own style and technique in a safe and inclusive environment.

The event was supported by professional musicians Dexter Hercules who recently supported the likes of Eliza Doolittle and other world artists and Luke Novak who helped set up the band in 2007 sang with singer-songwriter Jase all lent their support to the event; along with members of the Haringey Shed Tottenham youth theatre group.

Lynne Hale, Executive Director of Haringey Shed commented, “It was fantastic to see the whole community support the Shed Band and their debut album release. We work with experience musicians to bring the best out of young people from across the community – most start with us never having picked up an instrument and now they’re launching an album!”

Haringey Shed Bands are open to 9 – 17 year olds from across the borough, and start again in January.
