Haringey Sustainability Month - June 2011

June's Sustainability Month is once again an opportunity to showcase green ideas throughout the borough, and local grass roots groups and activities seeking a more sustainable society. Local residents and local organisations are encouraged to organise and publicise green/sustainability-related events of all kinds, on any day during June. Sustainable Haringey will compile and circulate a programme of these self-organised events.

Please send me details of any such events you (or anyone you know) are aiming to put on during June.  Don't worry if all the details aren't firmed up at this stage - just send me the bare bones so we can see how things are shaping up and avoid major clashes. Even if its just your regular event/meeting or whatever, as long as it has a green theme! All will go in the basic programme and so will help get additional publicity.

The month includes:

• Sat June 5th - Big Lunch Day (everyone encouraged to organise food sharing in local public spaces) Sat June 11th - Haringey 40:20 launch (Community action for carbon reduction)
• 18th - 26th June - UK Bike Week (everyone encouraged to organise bike-related events) 
• Sun June 26th - Sustainable Haringey Summer Gathering (Provisional date. Probable theme is Waste & Recycling)
