I too would like to thank David for his immense help when my landlady died - leaving all of us tenants in a complete mess - and for his help in assisting me to get support for one of our tenants with special needs.

Well said. Democracy can reward the wrong people. I guess that the selection farago remained as well known as Ulan Bator to most of the voters

I was doorstepped last night by supporters of Ali Ozbek wanting my vote. They knew nothing about the selection debacle (I think they really didn't), so I'm sure you're right that the majority of the electorate didn't. Very disappointing result, and I dread to think what we can expect from councillors with this kind of ethical compass.

No, everybody knows. They even knew in Crouch End.

Some labour candidates turned up on our doorstep last night and spoke to my husband in Turkish. He said he didn't speak Turkish. They carried on speaking Turkish and went away looking confused.

OK, if it helps (and this helps me) think of it from the perspective of the electorate who voted left. What they actually get will be slightly different but, this is the second best result we could expect and I think we should be magnanimous.

Well done Peter, Barbara and Ali. Well done Emine, Gina and James. Biggest congratulations to Claire and Joe who (sharp practice aside) never put a foot wrong.

Story is the scatter gun approach of the voters picking a smorgasbord of parties/candidates. The motivation of Harringay voters was there, with a significantly higher turn-out than elsewhere, but the scatter gun vote has meant Labour have sweep in with less votes for each candidate (about 1300 this time compared to about 1800 last time for winning candidates). It's the national situation that's hit the LibDems hard locally. Well done to Matt Cuthbert for topping the Greens with 650 votes! Thank you to David & Karen for your work over the years.

Talking Harringay ward only here Phil. Clearly Labour romped home in your ward. You should have been out there with your placard! I'm sure Ali will happily supply you with a hang over cure :)

In St Ann's the greens and lib dems together wouldn't have ousted labour.

Well they did get out almost every weekend since September and knock on doors and drop off leaflets. I'm unhappy that they campaigned on national issues when this is not a general election but it's not illegal.

We need to join the Labour Party. Simples.

Sorry John, but the Labour Party is in decline. Undemocratic, led by a sock puppet it promises nothing except the memory of something decent. The future has to be a real fightback against the despair that leads people to UKIP. If that fightback comes from the Greens, TUSC or Left Unity I don't really care but it sure won't come from Labour.
