Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Last night at the Harringay & St Ann's AA, a document was handed out re. the threat of swine flu. It opened by stating that "Swine flu continues to spread within Haringey although the rates seen in the borough are not as high as in some other parts of London"
Further on in the document it says that "swine flu is very prevalent in the community and it will be extremely difficult to avoid contact with the virus completely"
So which is it? Or is it both?
This document was addressed to MPs, councillors, Head Teachers, community & voluntary organisations, faith groups, residents associations, and business associations.
A lot of paper and what did we learn? I wonder how much this exercise cost to the council tax-payer.

Yes, it is difficult to avoid the virus and yes figures from BBC show Haringey surprisingly low compared to neighbouring boroughs but then, maybe the data isn't correct!
Yes Matt, you may well be correct - I don't know.

However the document was published on behalf of the Officer for Enforcement & Safer Communities, and the Joint Director of Public Health.

I was starting to wonder if the "double-dutch virus" had broken out in the corridors of LBH.
the thing to remember that for the vast majority of the population-around 99.5% the virus is just like any flu-for some people it is extremely mild, some are iller and need to go to bed for a few days-its only the drama of the media and the fact that the world health organisation has being preparing for a pandemic for years which it now has to be shown to put into place
Thousands of people die every winter from flu and swine flu is no diferent from that, it is generally the very young and old who will be most vulnerable to it,just as they always are-its sti

cant see what difference whethere we have more of an outbreak here now or later.cos come sept, oct they reckon third of us will be struck down-better to get it over wth now-also there are lot of side effects from "tamiflu"-the anti virals-
Think the business to be in at the moment is therometers cos many health professionals advice for the public,is dont call unless you have a temperature over 38c-must remmeber to pick my one up at the chemist next time i go shopping
