Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

In Haringey there are many initiatives to help people in need with food provisions and a growing conversation and action is being co-ordinated by Haringey Council's Connected Communities team.

From home delivery to fresh food to walk up food bank services, all have been affected by COVID-19 and the need to adapt services.

For us at the Gospel Centre, we were targeting residents in the N8 and N22 areas from last November.

Even in these challenging times we value our relationship with our visitors and give them the chance to choose to change standard items, within necessary constraints.

We also think that encouraging people to stay as local as possible at present is important. We have many people who are coming to us on a weekly basis.

That is also why we acknowledge the donations coming from the local community and enjoy getting to know you and want to be open to other ways of working together.

We know that the quantity of needs are worse elsewhere in the borough and that local people may wish to support these.  Yet we see the ongoing beneficial effects of our service to many individuals and families.

If you have ideas, wish to refer people or donate to us please do. We are currently would like partcularly tinned meat (not corned beef), rice pudding, drinking chocolate, weetabix and cleaning materials.

We can also be contacted at gospelcfoodbank@gmail.com.
