Haringey Charity Joins V&A to Lead February Festival of LBGT History in London

The National Festival of LBGT History in London is jointly organised by the V&A Museum and the Haringey-based Wise Thoughts, along with a number of partner agencies. 

A range of events, films, performances and presentations are planned over the weekend of Friday the 5th February to Sunday the 7th February 2016 in London. 

On Friday the 5th Feb, Islington Town Hall will see the launch of the London events from 5.30 to 10.30 pm. The Mayor will open the event and speakers include Peter Tatchell, Professor Jeffrey Weekes,  Rikki Beadle Blair, Roz Kaveney, Angela Eagle, Stuart Milk and the Diversity Choir with Claire Mooney as your MC! Free event but pre-booking required.

A full day of celebration of the Festival of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans History will take place on Saturday the 6th Feb at the V&A from 11 am to 5.45 pm. Schools OUT UK, LGBT History Month along with V&A LGBT network and Wise Thoughts will jointly host a day full of presentations and events exploring a range of exciting LGBT history topics. All events are free entry on a first come first served basis (no booking needed).

On Sunday the 7th Feb 2016 events will run at Museum of London from 11 am to 5 pm when there will be continuous readings from children's and young adults books from wonderful readers and authors including Ian McKellen, Bonnie Greer, Stuart Milk (Harvey Milk’s Nephew), James Dawson and many more… Free events, but pre-booking required.
