Haringey Artists featured in Femme FIerce

As some of you may be aware, there's a bit of an arts' community round here.

Femme Fierce is a 10 day festival of female street artists - displayed in Hackney Wick and also Waterloo.

We have some local representation.

It says a lot that no-one really believes that Banksy could be a girl. Well listen up philistines, not only do ladies do graffiti, but they do it really well.

To coincide with International Women’s Week, The Cre8 Gallery is holding the UK’s largest all-female street art event, ‘Femme Fierce’ which will be open to art connoisseurs and virgins alike March 7-14. The exhibition, curated by The Street Art Agency and Earth Tone Arts, will run a series of events to showcase both British and international female talent. For International Women’s Day, the renowned graffiti haven of Leake Street Tunnel will be taken over by the Femme Fierce group who will be joined by over 100 female graffiti writers and street artists from around to globe to set a Guinness World Record for ‘largest spray paint mural by multiple artists‘ to raise money for the Breast Cancer Care Charity. There will also be a premiere showing of street art documentary ‘Women on Walls’ as well as an array of Q&As, workshops and art shows all open to enjoy for free. Ally Swadling
