sounds eyewateringly expensive to me

why not get a quote from an agency like Fantastic Services which will give you an idea of what to expect?

As a former handyman, that sounds about right. It's a day's work, so they have to charge for a day. It can be quite awkward and you have to consider fitting handles etc.
