Fantastic photos Hugh. Thanks for sharing them. I'm really sorry to have missed this (I was away up norf for Halloween!). Here's to next year's celebrations!
Just to be clear they're not my photos. They came from Andy Newman - not sure if he was the photographer or not.
Yes they are my photos that I took at the Halloween Event at the Community Garden on Saturday night. Its one of the GRA’s biggest events in the Community Garden we put on - we try and put on something different every year for Halloween- This year was the Fire Show - Last year was a Magician - and the year before that was a Story teller etc etc -This year would be the 8th Year we have put on such an event, its all volunteers who put it on just like all our events we do. Its a great focus for the kids as its their do really but the grown ups generally all take part in dressing up etc - its a good family event?
We had about 150 people - some people said it was the best Halloween to date.
The next event in the garden will be Carol Singing in the railway arch & garden it was really good last year with about 50 people?
Last night was the Haringey in Bloom Awards at the Civic Centre and we won 1st Prize for Best Community Garden in Haringey - We lost the prize to the Phoenix Centre last year (well they borrowed it for a year) and we came second and this year we won it back again. - Really good do by the Council - Haringey in Bloom - I would encourage people to put forward their neighbours gardens theirs loads of different categories.
This year the Community Garden has won 3 Awards to date
The Green Pennant Award -
London In Bloom / RHS Neighbourhood Award - Outstanding Achievement
and The 1st Prize Best Community Garden in Haringey
Good result I say - hard work but really worth it in the end?
We are always looking for volunteers to help out for maintenance of the garden always the 1st Saturday of every month (this Saturday) 11am to 1pm or at the events or always new idea's too?

Andy
