Social climbing? As in morning after dancing the night away... ;-) but the nearest thing to a disco was down the church hall on a Saturday night... And a twisted wrist from one turn too many in a jive was the bigger risk!

There are tickets for £27.50 each for the 80th broadcast anniversary on the 2nd Nov, canapes and a 30s cocktail at the door. I'd prefer a cheaper ticket and be greeted with half a pint of bitter and a cheese sandwich.
