Global Voices Citizen Media Site

Recently, I've become more and more concerned about the 'MacDonaldisation' of the News Media around the world.. and how the larger media companies are packaging the news..

For instance, I've noticed how the BBC seems to have 'an agenda' on how it reports the Euro & the EU in general.. Which seems to be more of: 'give them what they want to hear' rather than 'report what is actually happening'.

I certainly do not accept how they are reporting Germany here..

But the point of this discussion is to 'flag-up' a citizen media site with international news, written by contributors, generally from smaller countries, which often go against what the CNNs and BBCs of the world would like to us to believe.

I thought maybe some of you might not have come across Global Voices and if, like me, you are concerned about the persecution of women, and/or LGBT issues in Iran or in other countries and you are not happy with the reporting from reporters 'parachuted in', then this site might be of interest to you..
