Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have just been reminded that the consultation on the Warwick Gardens bollards closes tomorrow.

Too late to mail the cards but you can give your opinion via this email Frontline.consultation@haringey.gov.uk

Option 1: retain the bollards but apply a £15/annum charge to pass holders.
Option 2: close the intersection to all motorised vehicles.

As some have suggested, this is an opportunity to shut this access once and for all. Take it.

Can we have no through traffic on my road please too? I'd like someone to ensure my road is safe too, which it is certainly not - cars overtake over 'speed cushions', and this is a school zone. ha!

Wow, is this Haringey's first toll road/gate?

I would have thought Turnpike Lane Tollgate would have been the first

But I suppose it wsn't called Haringey then.

I am unaware that there is a toll system still in operation there.

I'm against all residential road obstructions and permanent closures of this sort. I think they are a blight on an area and hugely disrupt vehicle flows to the huge detriment of those who live and work on the roads that are, for some reason, deemed junk. I drive more than I walk or cycle and feel that it is perfectly fine to use main roads when I know they'll be relatively clear and minor roads when I know that the main roads will be gridlocked. Who had the right to condemn Salisbury Rd, Harringay Rd etc in order to bring beatific silence on the Garden? I don't think that there's anything wrong with shortcuts - why drive the longer, slower route? Deciding traffic management policy based on the insane racer is a strange choice. There are more insane racers on longer wider roads and more people to knock over on high streets.

We would be happy to pay £15 for the card. We live just across St Annes road from the gardens?

The card is (in theory) only available to the residents of the Gardens.

Ok can I have bollards at the end of my road? It is used by vans avoiding the width restriction on woodlands park road. Perhaps the people on woodlands park road maybe they need bollards?

Sounds like just width restrictions would do the trick. They don't just stop vans, Ferraris are wide too... ;)

OMG, the number of Ferraris & Lamborghinis doing the drive through trendy, expensive Harringay these days is just sooooooooo sign-o-the-times. Send them back to St Johns Wood. They'll be opening up a branch of Gelato Mio next.

yeah thats why I got rid of mine.

First dibs on the used rising bollards going spare?
