Hello all,
I have a load of garden soil that I'd like to dispose of. It can't be collected in the usual garden waste collection and it's unclear from the website if they'll take it at the tip (sorry reuse and recycling centre). Any ideas?
Thanks good people!

Hi Sophie
If the soil is reasonably good (not clay) you could advertise it on here as 'top soil' and you are likely to get takers but I'd move fast as people tend to stop digging around now! I did this last year when I was levelling my garden and I must have got rid or 30-40 car loads. When I got to the clay then I contacted G. Killengrey (07860440386) who are a licensed carrier who are helpful and one of the best pricewise. Having said this if you have a large amount of clay you may have to go down the skip route as its heavy, costly and difficult to recycle. I hope this helps and good luck.
Thanks, this was helpful. Now I know that Haringey/Veolia can't help I can hatch a plan. I'm going to keep a few bags of the good top soil quality stuff for a raised bed, the rest has some kind of builder's sand mixed with it, a fair bit of rubble and a lot of fox poo. Needless to say this is the stuff I want to dispose of and I'm doubtful anyone would want to take this off my hands. Our new neighbours are renovating and I'm thinking we might ask them if they want to share a skip. Thanks for the helpful advice!
Thanks for your response. It's not clay I'm afraid. I'm keeping the good top soil stuff for a raised bed, the rest is rubbly soil with a lot of fox poo in it!
