Gaelic4Girls - Gaelic Football for girls

Holloway Gaels Ladies Football Club are a ladies GAA cub based in Downhills Park, Haringey, they are running a Gaelic4FGirls programme for girls aged 8 to 12 years of age in Downhills Park, N17 6AP starting this Saturday.

WHAT IS GAELIC4GIRLS?

It is initially an 8 week programme aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme is focused on fun and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in a non-competitive environment.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Gaelic for Girls is for girls aged 8-12.

WHEN AND WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

It will be held in Downhills Park every Saturday from 10.30-11.30 starting Saturday 23rd May, 2015.

On completion of the programme, participants are presented with certificates and t-shirts for their participation and are given the opportunity to join the local Ladies Gaelic Football Club. Having completed the programme the girls will then participate in a fun Mini Blitz.

HOW CAN MY CHILD GET INVOLVED?

Please contact Holloway Gael's Youth Development officer Ciara Holland at development@hollowaygaels.org for more details on participation. Our Gaelic4Girls coaches will also be visiting primary schools in the local areas telling the girls how to get involved.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROGRAMME?

It will be held on a weekly basis, with each session lasting one hour. The girls will be taught the basics of Gaelic Football through FUN Skill Games in a circuit style set-up.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR THE GIRLS?

· Being taught the basic skills of Ladies Gaelic Football on a fun basis

· Been given the opportunity to demonstrate their new skills on the final day through a Mini Blitz
