Friends of Finsbury Park: a General Meeting: Monday 7PM: at MIND

A General Meeting of the Friends of Finsbury Park will be held on:

This is just a five minute walk from the Hornsey Gate entrance to Finsbury Park and can also be accessed directly from the Parkland Walk. The W3 bus from the Wells Terrace bus station at Finsbury Park stops within 50 yards of the venue.

Councillor Stuart McNamara, Haringey Council Cabinet member with responsibility for parks, will be speaking and taking questions. This will be the last opportunity prior to this summer's scheduled major events in the Park, to talk to Haringey Council about these noisy large scale-concerts.

WE ran out of chairs at last week's general meeting that was attended by some 30 people.

The cabinet member answered questions for most of the meeting.

Cllr. McNamara said at the Stakeholder meeting that he could have signed it weeks ago

The promoters already possess enduring licences to hold concerts in our park. The main thing that I learnt is that the all-important Land Use contract or agreement – for a particular event – is due for the Lead Member's signature by the end of this month..

It is likely that it will be signed and the question remaining is, how many – if any – concerns of the community will be recognised in the agreement: or will it be signed off without change?
