Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

We had a flyer from Fresh Roll Vietnamese Take away in the mailbox and given the lack of good Vietnamese eateries around here, were quite excited and decided to order last night. Biggest mistake and can only recommend to stay away from this place.

The food was inedible and did not have the slightest resemblence with Vietnamese food. My wife is Vietnamese and we know what this food should look and taste like.

We ordered 2 Phos, 1 Bun Bo Hue and 1 Bun Bo Xao and 1 Vietnamese salad The soups" broth tasted like it was made with stock cubes and the meat was disgusting. The salad contained capsicum - a vegetable that isnt used in genuine Vietnamese cuisine and another sign that they dont know what they are doing. The Phos and Bun Bo Hue came with Spinach Leaves (WTF?!) and not with the traditional mint leaves, coriander etc.

When we called up to complain to the manager we were told that capsicum was a herb (!....again WTF?!) and that they've never served Pho with mint leaves....there was no apology offered.

Conclusion: this is not a Vietnamese restaurant / take away. Stay away from this place and save your money

Cheers

Never heard of them, where are they?

I have to say I've often ordered from Fresh Roll, and as a non-Vietnamese, I've always been happy with the food.

It always arrives quickly & hot, and the summer rolls are delicious. I've enjoyed the salads too, genuine ingredients or not.

Just wanted to add some balance!
